(Fix) Fixed an issue where the computer might not boot on PC-DOS.

Oh oh, the Thinkpad is dead. Only the red light is on and the fan is slowly running.

i take this file:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?fw407g18abczstb

and this fl1-File:

$0A84000.fl1

i flash with the x64 WinPhlash64.exe from your exe-File with admin-rights.

this was different than the other. i use the WinPhlash64.exe from your exe-File and i had no "advanced settings" in your version.

please help me Sad

Hmmm, why don't you simply execute the EXE file? It auto extracts the content in the right place and launch the flashing utility, no need to select a file.

uffff, really don't know how are you going to recover from that bad flash, the mod should always be flashed by running the WINUPTP.EXE file, like original does.

Try catching the phoenix crisys recovery disk

http://www.mediafire.com/file/j0mbfcdftz...ffSize.rar

But it's possible you need an USB floppy drive to make it work.

Please keep us informed of your progress on this issue.

The file i prepared for you have already 3 downloads, let's see if someone else come complaining about a brick.

Anyway for safeness i have password protected the file, so no one can download it again until this is solved. I'm sorry for your brick Sad

Wonderful, the Crisis-Tool helped me Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

the procedure:

- format an USB-stick with this tool "hp usb disk storage format tool"
(I do not know if that was necessary)

- start the crisis-tool with admin-rights and make the bootable USB-stick

- replace the bios.wph with the original Lenovo-bios (rename to bios.wph)

- start the notebook with the prepared USB-Stick and wait ca. 5-10min (do not turn off!!) Important: only one of three USB-Ports worked for this precedure. you have try

sorry for my bad english Blush

OK, i will try again with your bios-mod Angel

what should I do?
- expand the exe-file
- start the winuptp.exe with admin-rights
the problem is: currently is the newest bios installed and the software say: "an update is not necessary, the bios image file is the same an bios rom"

what should I do?

additional information:
otherwise I'm always proceed by TTAV134:
Upon opening the WinPhlash (32 or 64 bit), click "browse", choose the biosmod for your model, click "Advanced Settings" then check and uncheck the boxes so it looks like this:

("Flags" Tab):
[ ] Verify BIOS part number
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is different
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is newer
[ ] Verify BIOS image size
[ ] Verify BIOS checksum
[ ] Zero block before erasing
[x] Verify block after programming
[x] Disable Axx swaping automatic detection (if present)
[ ] Clear CMOS Checksum

("DMI" tab)
"Update": Select "Update the BIOS and not DMI"

TTAV134´s version of WinPhlash x64 has a different phlash.ini-file:
[UI]
Confirmation=0
Advanced=1
SaveEscdMode=1
DetectBitLocker=0
ForceUpdate=0

[Main]
FormatVersion=2
UpdateFlags=22
UserFlags=20
UserMask=d121a4
PSIFlags=0
UserMode=ffffffff
RetryCount=3
UpdateMode=2
ImageFile=BIOS.ROM
BackupFile=BIOS.BAK

I have uploaded to my first folder a new file for you. Should not show the version messages and flash correctly.

Hello Camilo, advance thanks for your hard work, but winuptp.exe does not work!!!

The program runs without errors, but without flash the rom too. The thinkpad restart at the end normally. i get the 1802 Bios-Error "unauthorizes networkcard ..."

Many thanks
