I'm sorry, could you please clear up what it means to "tap" a pin?
I need a dummy's guide for this. I don't want to mess up my card out of naivety

Its rsa signed bios you're lucky if your pc does not semibrick after entering bios setup.

You see the pin? just use whatever method you want to avoid it making contact to the pcie slot. Electrical isotalion tape would be a good choice i think.
