[Test, sp52619] - HP Pavilion dv7-4065dx
#1
Hello, I tried modding my BIOS with phoenix but I kept getting the digital signature was in correct.

My bios are Insyde.

PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENTS FOR SCREENSHOTS.

Here is the link fo manufacturer : Click Here

I am trying to see all the menus. I want to be able to change advanced settings like SATA, to IDE to AHCI, turn on my CPUs virtualization, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated!

CORRECTION: At first I didn't read the part in the sticky. I deleted HP TOOLS, then flashed using what you sent me. It restarted, I got the HP splash screen(their version of instant on OS) then got blank screen and off and on and off and so on....(assume this is what you mean by bricking). I just recovered my BIOS quick, had my pen drive setup. Is there anything else you may be able to do? (tweak the file again.) I can test multiple times I have a quick recovery. I hope to get a confirmed on this.

Thanks!

Where did you find HP Tools? My machine has no such thing anywhere but the BIOS mod still fails.

Look under My Computer> it should look like its on partition/hard drive, just delete that partition.

Hope that helps.

UPDATE: Looks like it bricked and Im trying the to use the pen drive to recover but Doesn't seem to work. Does deleting the HP TOOLS partition make it unable to recover BIOS?

Thanks!

Right click on "My Computer" then "Administration" and under "Disk management" you can see if the partition exists.

@blaaan

I will review the mod, don't worry.
If the PC seems bricked and the pendrive is not recognised in the recovey procedure you must remove cmos battery for a couple of minutes, then do the recovery again.

Looks like im SOL. There screen powers on the caps lock blinks and the computer just hangs. See attached pictures. I even tried removing the CMOS battery for a long period too, didnt work.

It seems extra difficult to do this without the HP TOOLS partition. Ive tried multiple research methods but none have worked. Though they say USB keys/pens don't work and I need a USB disk drive. I will try that. I am not sure if my BIOS are Phoenix or UEFI.

Any insight on a possible solution to get this puppy running again would be greatly appreciated. I hope to avoid making it a doormat.
