Phoenix Bios Unlock Request Packard Bell LX86
#21
Safe mode also causes BSOD. The very annoying thing is, that I thought many times I fixed the problem and the system ran for a couple of days without any problem. But then, bang, BSOD. System was started again, three hours later BSOD, system started again, no BSOD for 2 days, then 3 a day and so on... no matter what I'm doing, surfing, writing or nothing, this error isn't reproducable by running a special process. I even tried a computer game and prime95 to get the system to it's max, but nothing happened. I can play a game for an hour and it works, then I leave the NB alone for making a telephone call for instance, then it had BSOD while I was away.

When it is running on batteries, I get much more BSODs, I think. Last time I tried I got BSOD every time I started the computer and the system never ran more than five minutes. This and the minidump made me thinking vcore might be the problem. Or the CPU really is broken.

Complete Crashlog:

It is not always intelppm.sys, but the log always says that the problem was caused by the CPU.

Specs: LX86, i5 430M, Radeon HD 5650, 640GB HD, 4GB DDR3.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi,

Hard Case there.

intelppm.sys is used for low instances, like connecting to gpu,ram etc.

Huh, I can't really help you anymore.

Did you try to disable some CPU functions in BIOS? (VT/HT/Turbo) and so on.

My last suggestion could be your IGP on your i5. Maybe it crashes by switching interal gpu to external. Driver malfunction. Is your IGP activated or isn't it?
Did you use a clean install, or the recovery install from the HDD?

Actually I switched back to the recovery version of Win7 because I had no valid license for the Win7 Professional I installed for troubleshooting. And I didn't want to buy a license because it didn't fix my problem. Sad

IGP is disabled, there is so much I tried and it was just a waste of time. I'm so angry about that and the way PB-support tried to fix the problem - because they didn't try it and they didn't replace the CPU, although I sent them the minidump and BEGGED them to do this. The only good thing about it is that I learned never to buy any PB-sh*t again. I'm sorry, but I'm so angry at the NB, that I really consider to throw it out of the window, as an act of vengeance for all the time and WORK this thing wasted. If I hadn't my netbook that I'm actually using for important things, I think I'd be beside myself with rage.

Yesterday I disabled "Turbo mode" oder whatever it is called - no BSOD since, but I can't say if it was the "guilty" setting for it's possible that I don't get any BSOD today but three tomorrow for example.

Last chance I'll give it is another CPU, if it doesn't work then I can't guarantee for nothing... Angry (don't know if this German phrase is right in English)

Hello,

Well I'm half german/american.

That's probably the only thing you can do.

Lots of Luck...,
