Hi, I have the same laptop and was also interested to see if there's anything worth changing in the BIOS.
Did you have any luck with this?
Alex
Hi, not yet Ahmed is kindly trying to work it out, not easy when you don't have the laptop to test so its a bit of guesswork I suspect but he's trying for me
ps: had to re-register because I forgot my password sheeez!

I know, I really don't see the benefit of disabling important configuration settings, it's tantamount to just being spiteful. While I wait to see if Ahmed can do anything for me/us I've been playing and reading up on editing the BIOS with the Phoenix BIOS Editor.
While in there it was interesting to see dsdt.aml mentioned and this can be opened as a read-only section of the bios, but, I was wondering whether this can be used to make it more mac compatible, i.e. mac installs can use dsdt.aml files. Just wondering if these are basically the same thing and if the information inside the dsdt.aml section can be used in the same way.
I've tried several Distro's but its the MCP67 chipset that seems to be holding me up and stopping me from seeing my HDD's.

Hi All ,
I Have posted a sticky thread for the bios flash procedure here :-
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HO...GINAL-BIOS
flash using these instructions and it will work .
--Also , PHOENIX BIOS EDITOR is for bios emulation only and don`t use it in mods as it will brick your bios ........... the bios file modified by this tool is corrupted .
I will wait your reply .
Thank you

Installed Ahmeds modded bios no problem following the link on how to flash the phoenix bios.
Installing iAtkos S3 v2 at the moment, iATkos L1 restarts all the time although I'm sure there is a fix for it but I just want to see if its possible on this laptop to install iatkos. Will try iAtkos L2 when it arrives.

Hi Ahmed,
I've tried your unlocked BIOS in a compatible 7520G model, the thing starts and there are no problems, but I cannot enable AHCI on my SSD. It does nothing.
It's still using it in IDE mode. What do you think, why is it that?
I've tried even unlocked 5520 bios by another guy, but the problem persist, even that it has AHCI, RAID and Linux AHCI modes instead of IDE, but the system won't boot after writing AHCI bios loaded succesfully. It doesn't hang, but shows the blinking cursor, nothing happens, and after restart, it reverts to IDE.
Thank you for your help!
