Packard Bell IXTREME 9040 - Cuba MS-7301
#1
current BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD W7301VP2.306, 28/12/2006

I've found this thread,
which is about...
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Pa...ns-Slic2-1
Packard Bell Imedia 9668
Motherboard: Cuba MS-7301
BIOS Version used: W7301VP2.316

but I found that the Chipset is not the same:
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Un...media-9668
Chipset: VIA 82C327 rev 0

CPU-Z tells me for the IXTREME 9040:
Chipset: VIA: P4M890 Rev. 00
Southbridge: VIA: VT8237A Rev. 00

so that means I can't use that BIOS of the IMEDIA Packard Bell?

many thanks!

Kind regards,
Max

I've backed up my BIOS & used Modbin successfully to unhide all hidden,

but I don't see the point in unlocking this BIOS,
I've made DDR 333 MHz selectable, but when I select that, my memory runs only at 100 MHz...

the BIOS only shows the "Current FSB frequency" (which I enabled, but pointless because no other values selectable...),
is it possible to give it actually higher values (so to do some real overclocking?) ?
(I think that you can only use which in already available in the BIOS, you can't create new entries/commands?)

many thanks in advance,

Kind regards,
M

I can make new entries but it will be useless as it will not have any routines to make it work properly .
I must find the registers responsible for fsb and knew the right values to set it .
I`m sorry , i can`t do this .
