Packard Bell EASYNOTE R4600 Insyde bios R1.18

Hello,

I'm french so don't blame too much my english!

I' not sure this the good section to post

I have actually a Packad Bell Easy note R4600:

Sorry for the website in english but due to my IP, i'm always transfert to .fr on PB website

The CPU is a Intel Celeron M model 360 (1,2 Ghz):

I was lucky to get a Pentium M 730 (1,6 ghz):

I have no trouble to change the CPU, but Insyde bios R1.18 (06/16/2005) is totaly unlock and still use M360 multiplicator and voltage so i can't use the whole capacity of M740

the actual PB bios upgrade isolder (.16b):

Could you do something like unlock multiplicator/ voltage or modify my bios for the M730:
12x133 (bus) because maybe the trouble is that the multiplicator is good but the bus limited to 100 MHZ
16x100 If bus can't be put at 133MHZ

VID Voltage Range: 1.287V-1.4V

Tell me how to back up my actual bios is you need it(AWDFLASH?)

Sorry, but unforunatly the Insyde bioses cannot even be attempted to be unlocked, as there is no current method and they aren't the most common bios. Tthere may be a small chance that if we add the CPU Microcode it will work but I will need to verify with the Administrator tosee if its possible on the Insyde bios.

First thank you very much, for your quick answer,

Secondly I'm not sure addind the microde in the Insyde bios will resolve the trouble, because, the bios recognize it and use it as Pentium M not using it as Celeron.

Mayby you are right, and the bios only read the CPU ID, and i'm lucky that this Pentium M is same core that Celeron (Dothan).

Any way if you are able to add the microcode, i'll try it.

Yeah on the insyde bioses the best you can do is SLIC upgrades and maybe add microcode, it won't let you unlock options. The only shot is to add microcode that pushes the board to the correct settings. I will have to wait from a friend to confirm this can be done, so I appreciate your patience.

I'm not hurried, this computeur is my first step into the note book hardeware world.

Biche2 , you can use the program called ThrottleStop which can be found here that will allow you to change the multiplier of your CPU & FSB.
