[REQUEST] Acer Aspire 5560(G) BIOS Unlock
#1
Hi Guys,
I had an account here years ago but lost the password so sorry for the one poster...
I just bought an Acer Aspire 5560-SB401 I wanted to unlock the AC Power Loss Restore feature. Pretty much I want the laptop to power on when I plug it in or lets say there was a power outage and then power comes back on I want my laptop to come back on as well.

Thank you in advance!

Its UEFI and all UEFI bioses still can`t be unlocked now .
Also this problem about power loss is normal as ICs store power for some time as usual .

Can be found here: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_1.15_A_A.zip?acerid=634622815360943002&Step1=Notebook&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%205560G&OS=721&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_4

It would be nice if there is an option to control the APU VID for the CPU cores and maybe even IGP core speeds? But the most important thing would be permanently enabling TurboCore as it is less than aggressive enough, it like never does anything so I have to use K10Stat to put my A8-3800M back up to near stock speed when all cores are loaded, and with much lower voltage too. Maybe something along the lines of what K10Stat does can be done with a modded bios? Like being able to select "FID", "DID", and "VID" for the 6 performance states and TurboCore state? Doing so will give the true power of this APU with even longer battery life cause the lowest P-State's VID for 800 MHz can be reduced by over 0.05v ~ 0.10v and be 12+ hours stable Prime95.

I did a search no one here seems to have or post anything about this laptop but it seems popular on other forums, but everyone says "UEFI not supported yet".. here it looks like UEFI mods are actually being tried.

EDIT: APU and IGP info if needed (like in some threads it was requested)...

EDIT 2: Maybe this has info for APU registers..

Yes we are trying to unlock it and its still under development and im afraid you try a mod and something goes wrong with the mod then the notebook is brocken .
till now there is no available recovery for the UEFI so that it will be your choice .

Okay, this is not a recovery? http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HO...GINAL-BIOS

Or the "D2D Recovery" option in bios?

No , this is a method to flash the bios from dos .
when the notebook is broken , you can`t see anything except a black screen and you have to prepare a usb with the recovery files then insert it and trigger the correct key combination sothat it start flashing automatically ( with the black screen ) .
the problem is that no one got the required files for recovery and we don`t knew the key combination as well , sothat if its broken then you have to change the mother board .

the D2D recovery ( disk to disk recovery ) is not related to the bios recovery in any means .

Thank you ,
Ahmed

Ok , try calling acer and knew the recovery method ..... i will be grateful for you if you knew it .
and the UEFI is still under development , we need more time to create a modified UEFI bios ......... i will let you the results when we get something .
Thank you ,
Ahmed
