[Request] SLIC 2.1 for Asus P5A
#1
Hello ,
I would like to have a modded bios with slic 2.1 - this could be a challenge ;-)
board runs fine with w7rtm

- Motherboard Manufacter : Asus
- Motherboard Model : P5A (board revision 1.03)
- Bios Revision : 1011 Beta 005 dated 2002/05/13
- Bios Type : Award Modular BIOS V4.51PG
- Original Bios Link : http://support.asus.de/download/download...?product=1&model=P5A&SLanguage=de-de&os=10
- Original Bios attached zipped :
.zip   1011.zip (Size: 123.93 KB / Downloads: 4)

Thank you in advance!

Well, it can be done but theres a couple complications. First off this board is so old ists using version 4.51, not the standard version 6. The bios image is so small that theres no room to add the slic. I can try to add room by removing the bitmap logo for the bios, but its your call.

Thanks,

Hello TheWiz,
That sounds good.
Please replace the bitmap logo with a nice SLIC - then we have an interesting design instead Smile
You are free to brand it - if space is left - like "powered by TheWiz@biosmods"

Cool

Okay, I tried removing the EPA logo but there was some module sum errors. Im going to have to look at this some more to see if its possible to compress, especially because the old old award bioses are a pain.

Thanks,

Information
Hello TheWiz ,
attached you will find a previous modded bios: [attachment=114]
I flashed it but in combination with the corresponding cert and key w7 wasnt activated. So that version wont help you, because slic table should not be there.

I thought maybe with the flash process went something wrong. So I read the bios after the flashing: [attachment=115]

Actual status:

But at the end I assume removing EPA logo and compressing is the only way. Maybe a SSv3 mod could be the solution. It works with a Asus A7v133 (Award 256 kb Bios), SLIC at 000FDC00.
