Good day to all readers,
I have an eight year old computer that is Acer Aspire T630 and running on Windows XP and it runs perfectly. Just a week a ago reformatted the pc using the recovering CDs. I heard that Ubuntu is a great OS that I should give it a try and went to the site and downloaded a copy 32bit version. I tried booting the disc but the pc refused to boot the disc. Using the same disc, I tried booting on another pc and it worked fine without any problems. I gave a call to one of the local pc repair shops and they say that the motherboard has been locked to prevent any other OS from being install. I have another pc that is about 5 years old that runs on Windows XP OEM and even using the installation disc to boot(not planning to install), the Acer pc refused to even boot the disc. Both of my other pc are already installed with Ubuntu (same disc) and non gave any problems. Is there anyway to unlock the motherboard so that it is able to boot other OS??
