Okay, this one didn't work out either. So, I took photos of everything to show you what I'm doing. Let me know if I am messing up somewhere.
1. I extracted the .bin file and renamed it to bios.fd to flash it with the Insyde utility.
2. I installed it with Insyde which rebooted the machine after it was flashed.
3. I shut the machine down and put the new Wifi card in. I turned it on. The "_" screen displayed for about 4 seconds. Then, the normal screen appeared:
4. I removed that Wifi card and rebooted. I entered BIOs to see if there were new menus. There were not any. Here's BIOS:
Let me know what I'm doing wrong. I'll be back online after 930pm CST. Thanks again man, you're a great help.

Unfortunately yes the same error. Is it that I flashed wrong? See step 1 & 2 above and let me know if that process is right. I'll do as necessary to win this BIOS battle.
Should I be using the InsydeFlash tool? It seems to work in at least changing BIOS version names...

its confirmed that it works properly but please don`t use the attached flash utility as it didn`t flash all BIOS parts and as a result the mod isn`t written in BIOS , just use another flash utility with the same BIOS file .
Thanks for confirming,
Moved to unlocked /mod

Confirmed. Menus are unlocked. All works well!
I suggest moving this to be linked to both Confirmed Whitelist Removal and Confirmed Insyde Unlocked.

My lenovo Y470P is days away from arriving, and I have an intel 6250 on its way for it too, and glad to find this forum, as I run primarily 5GHz wifi at home.
This might be a newbish question, but what menus/options exactly get unlocked with yur modded bios? (Does the lenovo bios flashing utility work fine for this?)
Also from what I can find in my searches, the Y470 and Y470P share the same bios, can anyone disprove or approve this?
Thanks

I have the 470P and I'm doing great with this BIOs mod. There are a lot of features with the CPU and the motherboard in general that Lenovo locks out. The menu opens up all of those "developer" variables. However, I have not touched them as it works great without modification in my opinion.
