Sorry for the delay...
No, ain't working that well, changing nearly anything seems to send it into heaven. Sad

Sure, but what has that to do with this mod?
BIOS version history

OC'ing the CPU isn't possible as it's already locked by the processor itself, but you get a lot of options in the advanced menu, I've seen a youtube video showing all the pages quite a while ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xozl0phLKz8

thanks Wink

Hi People I justed saw a youtube video of a user demostrating a fully working mod. He can also save settings without the blank screen and flashing cap led light which most of us have a problem with and then have to reset cmos . Even changing as little as the time in bios can cause the blank screen error . the video link is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xozl0phLKz8
The user does nt share this mod no matter how hard you try i was wondering if someone with knowledge can get :an insight into how he has done the modification to help all us guys here ..Smile good luckWink

read comments below the video, there he tells that he desoldered bios , programmed with his own signature and soldered back Smile
for now, he has not released description about process, but in mydigitallife forum i've asked it. Link

cheers!

Hi all. I have a HP DV6 6145TX that uses the sp55068.exe file to update the bios. I've played around with some bioses before, and know that 'bricking' can occur, but I'm wondering what the likelyhood of this occuring is using the files provided here?
Interested in getting an unlocked bios, since the standard one is useless (to say the least), any advice on what file to update with? And... if I need to in the future, can I restore by running the original bios update file?
Cheers Smile

If you save any settings it's likely that you have to remove power/battery and the CMOS battery for about a minute to get it back booting up, so I just recommend you to stay with the original BIOS, it's not worth the effort at all.

Good day Gents,

These are the Steps I have taken so far :

HP Pavilion DV6 Notebook
Intel ® Core i7 - 2630QM CPU
Bios Version F.1B (Insyde)
Windows 7 Operating System

I have read up a bit and I managed to make a Snow Leopard Boot USB.
I am battling with the Bios - I cant get to a point where I have Advanced setting to change this :

2). Essential BIOS Settings :

If when booting OS X your computer hangs at a screen with the Apple logo and a "no smoking" sign, you may have an issue with a BIOS Setting. To rectify this, follow these procedures

Advanced BIOS Features :
HDD S.M.A.R.T. Capability [Enabled]
CPU Enhanced Halt [Disabled]
CPU Thermal Monitor [Disabled]
CPU EIST Function [Disabled]
Integrated Pereprhals :
USB Keyboard Function [Enabled]
USB Mouse Function [Enabled]
SATA RAID/AHCI Mode [AHCI]
Onboard SATA/IDE Device [AHCI]
Power Management Setup :
HPET Mode [64-bit Mode]

I have tried to install modified versions of the Insyde Bios but it keeps saying what I am trying to install is either Corrupt or not Digitally Signed.

Forget it, not even a supercomputer is able to hack the signature, and HP isn't going to release it.
I've seen someone who made a hardware hack, but that's way too complicated.
So we're stuck with the firmware HP releases, sorry for the bad news Angel

Greetings,
BlackBird
