Hi,

Would it be possible to unlock AHCI in the Asus Eee PC 1000HG Bios?

The original last Bios 0703 and other informations can be found on:
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SL...shedid=n/a
and is attached too.

Many thanks in advance!

Ok,

Try it, and tell me if you see the AHCI setting in "Configure SATA as" option that i have put on Onboard devices configuration. Wink

Hi Camilo,

I flashed your modded BIOS on my Asus Eee PC 1000HG without any problemes.
But unfortunately I can't find "Configure SATA as" option under "Onboard devices" configuration.
Can you help once again please?

Hi Camilo,

many thanks for your work.
After flashing the modded BIOS "Configure SATA as" exists under "Onboard devices".
I changed it to "AHCI".
But it seems, that it does not activate AHCI. There were no automatic driver changes after the first Windows 7-reboot. Also the AS SSD Benchmark still shows "intelide"-mode.
Maybe the reason is another missing BIOS-setting: "ATA/IDE Configuration"?
Similar like here: http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Pr...3#pid25453
Do you have an idea to fix the problem?

Many thanks in advance.

The entire IDE configuration form is missing, the setting you refer to is the Disbled/Compatible/Enhanced setting for the controller, the IDE/AHCI/RAID selection is supposed to be effective only with Enhanced mode. I will try to exchange another useless setting with that one in the bios.

Hi Camilo,

great, your new mod does the trick! Cool You're really a big expert - my deep and honest respect.

The AHCI-mode with your modded BIOS speeds up the SSD of my good old Asus Eee PC 1000HG! Big Grin

IDE-Mode with original BIOS:

Windows (7 SP1) Experience Index: 6.8

AS SSD Benchmark 1.6.4194.30325
Name: CRUCIAL_CT64M225 ATA Device
Firmware: 2142
Controller: intelide
Offset: 1024 K - OK
Size: 59.62 GB

AHCI-Mode with modded BIOS by Camilo:

Windows (7 SP1) Experience Index: 7.1

AS SSD Benchmark 1.6.4194.30325
Name: CRUCIAL_CT64M225 ATA Device
Firmware: 2142
Controller: msahci
Offset: 1024 K - OK
Size: 59.62 GB
Date: 3/8/2012 5:59:19 PM
Sequential:
Read: 128.45 MB/s
Write: 96.44 MB/s
4K:
Read: 15.96 MB/s
Write: 7.89 MB/s
4K-64Threads:

Access Times:

Write: 0.530 ms

Total: 244

So I think it will make sense to replace the old CRUCIAL M225 with a newer and bigger CRUCIAL M4 - SSD.

Have a nice day!

Frank from Germany

P.S.: For your good work I donated a little amount. Smile
