REmove fan routine from BIOS..?!
#1
I can't be the only one.

My HP NC4400 laptop runs very cool; could probably run without a fan at all.

I'm wondering is there any way to remove the assembly language
BIOS routine for fan operation and disable the fan/run fanless?

There's gotta be a way!

Thanks,Wally

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors, Intel Core Duo processors, or Intel Celeron® M processor

^^from the specs, cant really see any of them not melting without a fan.

Well, the laptop boots up with fan on, arbitrarily, from a cold state.

That says something.

I did unplug the fan and it would poweroff after a while.

Suggests that bios software control.

Anybody?

If you dont want the fan just unplug it, if it doesn't melt and switch off every 5 minutes then thats cool, if you really want the routine removed so even if you plug the fan back in the fan wont work then post a link to the bios.
