This might be a newbish question, but what menus/options exactly get unlocked with yur modded bios? (Does the lenovo bios flashing utility work fine for this?)
Also from what I can find in my searches, the Y470 and Y470P share the same bios, can anyone disprove or approve this?
Thanks
I have the 470P and I'm doing great with this BIOs mod. There are a lot of features with the CPU and the motherboard in general that Lenovo locks out. The menu opens up all of those "developer" variables. However, I have not touched them as it works great without modification in my opinion.
Thanks, I will put this on my Y470P as soon as it arrives.
What bios flashing utility did you use, the lenovo one?

Yeah. You can use their flash utility. You'll need to rename the BIOs to the same name as the other one. If it won't flash, you'll have to modify it to flash everything and not merely update if version is newer. The INI descriptors are intuitive.
If you have issues, just post and I'll find my INI for flashing this. It's somewhere among the many files on my file server so it might take a little bit to locate.

I'm very limited on what can be attached to a post.
1. Download the installer from Lenovo.
2. Unpack it.
3. Delete the FD file and the platform.ini file.
4. Put the FD file (the BIOs file from this thread above) in the folder.
5. Put the attached platform.ini file in the folder.
6. Run the application to flash BIOs.

Ok, I've been trying for awhile now, but I cannot get this bios to load, I get an error "there isn't any rom file in this directory", or "this bios is not for your notebook pc"... My current bios version is 2.03.

Give me a list of all of the files in the directory where you are running this from.
Did you do what I said exactly? I.E. copy the platform.ini above and the BIOs file into the directory with the rest of the files?
