Re-Request GT5676 Bengal RS780 (7B3G1P04)
#1
Hello i've been browsing these forums for a while now attempting to upgrade an oldish PC that i've obtained, and i was just wondering if someone here could help with my odd circumstance.

I recently upgraded my cpu to an AMD Phenom II x4 945, but my bios doesn't recognize it. My computer still boots and runs the processor at it's default max of 3 ghz but i really want to overclock.

I have a (Gateway) Bengal RS780 (7B3G1P04) mobo and my attempts to update the bios to have upgraded cpu support / the ability to overclock have so far been futile.

I've actually tried using this: http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Ga...del-GT5676

Seeing as how that is the exact system/mobo model i'm upgrading i thought it would work no problem, but when i restart it gives me the "CMOS bad checksum" error and then when i load from defaults it seems as if nothing in the bios has changed whatsoever...

If someone could please help me i would be eternally grateful!

if your getting cmos checksum errors alot of your bios keeps reseting to defaults your cmos battery could be flat.

Try a new battery and see if your changes to bios settings get remembered.

It's not really a lot, it's only when i try to flash with that bios provided from the person on here. And then after the first time it goes away. Thanks for the reply though.

Also just remembered i'm currently using Win7 Loader. Would that have any effect?
