hi there
while searching for a solution to my problem with an Intel wifi adapter replacement in a HP G6 laptop, i came across this forum. there seems to be a lot of knowledge here about this, and a lot of people get their wifi adapters working. so i thought i'd give it a try as well. because i couldn't find another thread about my specific notebook and bios, i started a new one.
the story
i already bought an Intel Centrino 6235 wifi adapter to replace the standard Realtek one. but on installing this in the laptop, and booting it up, it immidiately shows the error as in the attachment; the Intel adapter isn't supported. so it seems that i need an whitelist removal to get it to work.
the specs
HP G6 1335ed notebook
standard wifi adapter: Realtek RTL8188CE
new wifi adapter: Intel Centrino Advanced N 6235
bios: Insyde F.52 (updated from F.47 i think)
is there a way to get the laptop/bios to accept the new wifi adapter?
do i need to give more info about my laptop?
i'm quite a noob when it comes to custom-flashing the bios, but with a good tutorial i should be able to give it a try.
can anyone look into my problem here? thanks in advance
hoeja, freduce
btw
this page gives the download-link for the current bios.
