Does anyone know about CMOS jumper ports?
i have mucked up my system. i was messing around with the memory allocation in the bios and i turned off the switchable graphics (GT 540m) then i some how managed to not allocate any shared memory to the hd3000 so it is as if it is turned off. so i dont get a screen on my laptop anymore, i have tried reflashing my bios through a usb but its not working.

I have tried this:
1-turn on laptop
2-press F2
3-press F9
4-press enter
5-press f10
6-press Enter

but cannot get it to work properly.

any ideas? thanks

I did plenty of research and did all my checks and realised this unlocked bios is used by all the models mentioned in the post earlier. Having done all the stringent checks I decided to take the plunge and flash my BIOS on my Packard Bell Easynote TS11HR and it all went well.

I can go as far as saying yes this modded/unlocked BIOS is neat in many ways and I notice the improved stability and speed.

Only problem I have is Clover Bootloader on USB does not see my OS X partitions.
A workaround is to load Clover USB (UEFI Mode) an open UEFI Shell then load refind and load clover again and I can natively boot Mac OS X 10.7.5 and OS X 10.8.2.

This could be a clover issue but I am having doubts that this is because the UEFI is still incomplete

Also I feel the UEFI module or modules still need work because I converted my HDD from MBR to GPT using rod smith's gpt fdisk and added EFI SYSTEM PARTITION. I copied bootmgr.efi and bootmgrw.efi to (ESP)/efi/microsoft/boot/ also ran windows 8 RE in UEFI mode to repair my bcd. Here's the interesting part! Now strangely enough this got detected in the BIOS as Windows Boot Manager. Usually you would manually write this to the NVRAM or the installer would do this for you. having said that I have clover, refind, and refit all in my EFI System partition and I am unable to add this to the boot options. I tried to boot into ubuntu in UEFI mode and got kernel panics using ubuntu 10.10, 11.01 and 12.04.1 also when I boot into ubuntu using bios mode efibootmgr does not work! it says: - Fatal: Couldn't open either sysfs or procfs directories for accessing EFI variables. I do not want to loose my windows boot loader for clover as I use windows as main OS so i didn't bother renaming cloverx64.efi file.

Does this bios contain boot manager also why does the windows entry show up as unknown device? I do not mind testing or writing code to get this to work just that I am not a programmer so I was not manually able to unlock/disassemble this BIOS using IDA, a short guide would be nice. I got stuck after opening the setupPE as the contents did not match up with the one found on the guide I was following.

any ideas?

Kind Regards,
Ash

Use bcfg in shell to configure your boot entries, you can point anything as an entry for your laptops boot manager ... including shell itself.
Clover requires HFSPlus.efi in order to see HFS± partitions natively. Since this is a driver stolen from the Apple fw scap they do not provide it in the installer package/SVN.

lol your comments make me giggle. Can you prove me wrong? I cannot load shell 2.0 on my laptop as this bios uses UEFI version 2.00 due to limitation and the EFI shell just halting on me I cannot load shell 2.0 it says: -
ASSERT_EFI_ERROR (Status = Not Found)
ASSERT c:\dev\edk2tip\MdeModulePkg\Library\UefiHiiServicesLib\UefiHiiServicesLib.c(88): !EFI_ERROR (Status)
and thus i cannot use bcfg? any ideas?

Hi everyone. I hope you guys can help me, i am completely out of my depth when it comes to comp problems such as these. My problem is with my 5750g, its fan speed is not being controlled by the official bios to any degree pretty much which makes gaming far too toasty so to speak.
My question is if i flash my bios with the OPs mod, will i be able to manually control my fan speeds through this bios, and is there any danger? Ive only ever updated my bios once through the acer support site, but that didnt seem to help the problem at all. currently at 1.2 i think.
My specs are
i7 2630 QM
8gb ram
gt540m
thanks for the help in advance

Guys i am running Windows 8 64 so i had to upgrade my BIOS to 1.20.

I would really appreciate if someone can unlock the latest bios 1.20. I play Counter Strike Global Offensive and my laptop fan speed remains at idle / near idle and it shuts off after an hour or so.

Below is the link to the bios.

Also is there any way i can control the speed of the fan, so when i play game i can make it max ?
