I hope someone can work me through this...
A full cup of water was spilled on our Dell Inspiron 17R (N7010) laptop. Once the water drained out my wife tried to boot it. Dead short on the MB. Obtained a factory refurbished MB, which is p/n DAOUM9MB6DO REV D (HannStar J MV-4 94V-0 1104). It has BIOS Rev A06, per the packaging. The processor from the original MB is an Intel Core i5-480M, 2.66, 3MB, Arrandale. However, BIOS rev A09 is the first version with support for this CPU, per the Dell website.
Long story short, power comes on - CD Drive spins - no CPU fan - no screen - no POST.
Is there a way to flash the BIOS from Rev A06 to A09 (or A11) with this unsupported CPU?
Thanks in advance for your help!
