The one I made for you keeps your CPU Turbo running higher and longer.
The one that eskaryo made is overvolting and overclocking the GPU. He put it on 750Mhz, but with 0.9125v, which makes it run hotter.
I would suggest to OC your GPU with Nvidia Inspector to see how high it can reach without any overvolt and if you like I can also hard code those values into your bios.
Just do your testing and PM me the values of your choice. Maybe your card even runs 750Mhz without the extra voltage. Wink

EDIT: It looks like Clevo uses the same BIOS for W150HRM & W170HR, so this works on both! Wink

Also here is the latest version (modded and tested, works):

Moral hazard, could you attach the files, because they aren't available anymore on rapidshare. If you have an updated version, that would be even better. Thanks in advance.

I have found the files mirrored on this site. It is the same modified file from this thread I believe as the author mentions that that they have packaged up the files from the dead links on here.

I have successfully flashed the latest stock bios (1.01.09) from the bottom of the first post here and then successfully flashed the modified/unlocked bios.

Hi,
I have been using this bios since this day you released and installed Windows 7 64bits and all was working fine with the exception of sometimes i got a BSOD error MULTIPLE_IRC_COMPLETE_REQUESTS but i know that this happens due to use the ext2fsd software/driver to be able to read/write in ext/2/3 partitions.

However today after getting the BSOD and after the dump reached the 100% the notebook didnt restarted, i had to do it manually, and from that point i was no longer able to run windows since hard disk wasnt being recognized.

So i enter BIOS and selected to load Optimal settings, but didnt help in anything, the only thing that recognizes is the cdrom, not even a USB pen recognizes!

PLEASE could you help me?

This is the only machine i have, i had to ask a friend to be able to come here to ask for help and i do need the notebook in a daily basis.

TIA
Peter

Found the good old modded bios file on a Chinese website. This one also fixed the unrecognizable disks. I tested it and re-uploaded it for people to find it now.

For any fellow Clevo: W150HRQ/W150HRM Sager: NP5165 users who happen to come across this page like I did only to find the links are dead I went ahead and made up some of the mods

Using the link posted for the modded 1.09 bios found on a chinese site and some instruction posted on where to find the vbios I extracted a stock vbios and attempted to tweak it only to find no program reads it..I used a m14x vbios and flashed it instead, that worked fine but I noticed my computer had some trouble turning the screen back on when it timed out and if i recall reading this it can have problems with sleep mode

So I came across a donationware called SVET's vbios tuner and bought it only to find that this as well does not read the vbios, but after a quick back and fourth email with the developer he updated the software to read the vbios natively

So I went ahead and tweaked the W150HRM 1.09 vbios to have the increased voltage from 0.8625 to 0.9125

With stock voltage my W150HRQ could only go to 660/1000 clocks, pushing to 670 caused occasional driver crashes, 680 caused lock ups
With over voltage my W150HRQ can go to 740/1040 clocks stable, although this brings my average temp under load into the 80s

I currently have my clocks at 720/1000 and after cleaning my computer out, applying some new thermal paste, and using a fan dock I'm comfortable with the low 70s temp range

I used MSI afterburner to apply new clocks, I have not modded the vbios to have the clocks although I can upload different bios files with different gpu clocks

WARNING:
!!!DO NOT DISABLE HYPERTHREADING!!!
Although it is very tempting considering hyperthreading causes stuttering with my computer I also disabled hyperthreading only to find my computer would not post, removing the cmos battery didnt work, shorting the board didnt work, my comp sat for over a month before one day I just kept powercycling it and it booted up...
So again, under no circumstances should you disable hyperthreading, this mobo/cpu dont like it

The file attached is the unlocked 1.09 bios with the fixed drive problem and vbios increased to 0.9125
