Many Thanks

Edit: I change the link to the 207 bios version. The 210 is unstable.

Hi,

After some research over the web, i've found the modded bios that i needed (modified by Jommoner in another forum). The only problem is that the based bios is the 210 version. This version is unstable and cause some issues (with windows 7) like "red dots" and the brightness only goes until 50%. I'm saying this because the guy who Jommoner helped to made his upgrade had this problem. Yesterday i've upgraded my stock 207 bios to the stock 210 version, and i had the same problems (with my stock 9500m GS), this prove that Jommoner had sucessfully modded the bios and the problems was in the 210 bios version.

I post here the modded bios by Jommoner below.

Jommoner, if you can do the same think but on the 207 version, i'll appreciate.

Ok,

I could not resist to see the 9650M GT in front of me without being able to use. So, I decided to flash the bios with the mod bios (based on 210version) from Jommoner above.

So far, everything is working 100% less the brightness of the screen. In windows the brightness only goes until 50%, but if i press fn+F6 during the bios post, or on bios environement, i can set the brightness as i want. So, when i start my laptop, i have to set the brightness during the post.

As is known, the fan is always in full speed. I'm trying to find a solution for this problem. I'm almost sure i'm not going to solve the problem via the bios because i don't know how i can mod it. I just hope I can find a program in Windows environment able to control the fan.

Edit for modders think Smile :

The fan speed is controled by the main bios. So, i think that the fact of the fan is always in full speed could had 2 reasons:

1º-The main bios can't read the info from the graphic card, so needed to be mooded.
2º-The graphic card send information about temp but the the bios can't read it.

The problem could be in main bios or in graphic card bios. So, if "we" (i say "we" because i don't know anything about modding Smile) mod the graphic card bios to "speak" the same language of the main bios, "we" maybe can solve the problem.

Is it right? or i'm a dreamer? SmileSmile

Hi,

Someone can tell me if the motherboard of the M50Sv and M50VN are the same? I'm asking because the m50vn have a 9650m GT and, in this laptop, the fan works well. So, if the motherboard is the same, the only thing I see that could be different is the bios. My idea to solve the fan problem is flash the m50sv bios mith a pure m50vn bios. Someone can help me?
