Got into the os. Flashed back to nwl ulkmenus fan trip...gamed for 8mins; thermal meltdown. The GPU area of the laptop was unbareable to even touch.

OK. So I got it up to the os and flashed back to stock HP bios. Gamed for 7mins, and got the thermal meltdown. This stock bios actually makes 6750m the primary. What do you ppl think? I'm sending it to HP.

First off I would like to say very much thank you for this unlocked bios. I have been having problems with my laptop dv6 6128ca recently after not being aware that my bios was locked. And be thinking that the only vid car in use was the APU and not the GPU even when i played games for example BF3. Thankfully a quick search on how to unlock a bios it led me here. I then just searched for my bios and boom! it right there.. Now i have the first one that was provided. The one with the VGA OC. I am somewhat new to these bios settings. I was able to set it to the "HOLY GRAIL MODE" like the XEV pointed out here

To set switchable + Hybid (HOLY GRAIL MODE, BUGGY!!!):

PX Fix Mode: Enable
PX Dynamic Mode: Enable
Stereo 3D: Disable
PX mode: MuxLess
Discrete GFX Modules: None
HDMI Audio: Enable

But where do I set my memory frequency? i have a 4gb ddr 1333mhz but i only reachs a max of 700 when i look at using cpuz

I have looked throu the many options and cant seem to find this. Is there a way also to turn of TURBO CORE control through Bios bc i cant seam to find it..

and btw I am using the latest amd driver which is 13.1 not like most that are using 12.1 or 12.1a should i switch to that driver as well???

hi, i am having a problem i have a dv6-6135dx i flashed my bios and i know it is unlocked as i am able to install other wi/fi cards i was not able to install before but the one card i need to install in this laptop is the intel 6230

the problem i am having is it halts on boot with Bluetooth module ID 704 is there anyway to whitelist Bluetooth thanks for any help..

I used the Phoenix Tool v2.14 to extract the BIOS files and observe the embedded white list. I researched quite a bit to uncover all of the bits needed to modify the BIOS. But then someone I had asked a few questions of (over on My Digital Life) told me that it's not possible to do because this BIOS is RSA signed. So I'm is that correct? You cannot modify or bypass the white list and all you can do is unlock the BIOS?

I'm still a bit confused about this.

Since the BIOS files are RSA signed, any change to the file size will likely violate the RSA security check. That is, unless there is a known checksum involved and there's a way to mimic the checksum value using some technique. Or, it's based on the exact file size and so a hex edit is performed in just the right spot that effectively "shuts off" the white list check.

Can anyone who knows about this shed some light? Thanks.

First wanna say thank you for the hard work making this available to everybody.

Unfortunately didn't quite work to me either. I installed it without a problem. But as others have mentioned, when i replace the wifi card with mi Intel 6230, it halts on error 704 saying Bluetooth is not recognized.

If anyone have a work around(unlocked BIOS) for the Bluetooth error I'll greatly appreciate.

Camiloml´s bios sp54724 not work in Dv6z 6c00 amd a8 3520m ati 6790m (6700 series), this model is very similar than Dv6 6135dx.

Why is the reason?
Dv6 6135dx, all bioses sizes around (5.85 M) the last is F.21 -- it work fine in Dv6 6100

Sorry to necro this thread, but I had to register for an account and say thanks to camiloml for the first BIOS he posted here.

I downloaded it, renamed the HP_TOOLS partition to HP_TOOL, and ran the file. It flashed just fine. Rebooted and am loving having all this extra control over my machine. I'm going to tinker around with the GPU configurations a bunch now, but really wanted to say thanks for the awesome contribution.

I'm afraid your file is no longer hosted at that location - bad link. It is also not on your FTP which I found using another search method.

I did find a version that I had downloaded a year or so back - I was afraid to try this while under warranty... now that my warranty is up- I installed it...

Installed fine - but after putting in my Intel AC 3160 wifi/blutooth device I got the error code "hp bios error luetooth Module ID (704)"


The ONLY reason I have for changing my bios is to use that AC card... Yes all the other advanced features look cool, but I have no use for them...

I'm guessing the white list is not fixed on the version I have.

-Also after the first boot, where I saw the options working, and the error about my network card, now I have a dead machine - black screen and blinking light.

I've attempted to restore with usb - no luck. Now I've pulled the battery out and am crossing my fingers. = Edit, 5 minutes after pulling battery it booted. I'm going to put the stock bios on until I know what would cause it to freeze up like that.

I'm more than willing to donate cash if you have a fix for this...
