You can't O/C the Vostro200 through this modded BIOSes I'm afraid.

Since I am running 3 different size SSDs under 250 GB I am looking to see if I can run AHCI mode.
Has any one tried windows 8 / 8.1 on the moded bios. If I am just to have AHCI working, which of the three bios should I get?
thank you very much
regards.. Use modded BIOS #2 to be able to select AHCI mode. Otherwise, stick to std BIOS and select RAID mode.

If you plan on using Ubuntu, or probably any linux flavor, don't use this BIOS mod. It causes the ACPI to report incorrect temp readings and Ubuntu will shutdown with a "critical temperature reached" error (if you're lucky enough to see it before it dies). I believe this is a kernel thing so more than Ubuntu will be affected. I also tried DSL for fun, same result.
I spent a few days trying to figure it out. New heatsink/fan, reapplying thermal paste, different CPUs, etc. When I was ready to give up I remembered I had flashed this BIOS a while back. Returned to stock 1.0.16 and all was well.

Well. I updated to the 2nd BIOS posted on this article using winflash 1.92. I selected the option the program the entire BIOS area.
The flash worked, I could now select the option for RAID0. I reinstalled Windows on the RAID0 volume only to find that I could not get the onboard LAN to work. After reading this thread several times, I decided to restore from my BIOS backup to try and resolve the issue. The entire system froze while programming the BIOS file...
So now the system powers and shows the old BIOS, but I cannot progress past the BIOS. Even if I select a boot device I am presented with a blinking cursor that never progresses. I've tried clearing CMOS.
I cannot do anything but change BIOS settings with the system now. Can anyone help me???
I strongly caution anyone who finds this thread, as a few people have reported the LAN issue. I wish people wouldn't say "just use afudos or winflash", there are so many versions, specifics are critcal.
Please help.

Is anyone still working on this BOIS? I bought an e8600 CPU and wish to push it, along with a GTX550Ti card. I was giving this old machine and I've only put $100 into it. I also like to dabble in other things, like getting Mac OS X to run, plus I wish to get a SSD soon. AHCI option would be nice, although I understand RAID setting would suffice. Thanks.

No work is being done afaik, no and no option will allow you to O/C your CPU. AHCI works just fine with BIOS #2 or if you opt for RAID mode with Std BIOS. Mac OS X is 100% supported, whether Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks. Have a look at OSXLatitude for that.

Hello all,
Sorry I'm a bit of a noob, but can anyone tell me how to flash my bios with this bin file included? I've read the guide but it doesn't make sense since dell is neither an Award orAMI Bios correct?
Any help would be appreciated? I just want to flash my bios to get the AHCI function since when I am attempting to install OSX the drives won't show up.
Thank you!

No, it is indeed an Award BIOS, just use awdflash and leave the boot block and DMI block alone.
