Thanks for all of the info LOADED within this thread. Very helpful stuff. Successfully got an Athlon 64 x2 5600+ 2.80GHz at a stable 3.11GHz OC. The BIOS which alters voltage is vital for my system. Thanks Wiz. Never thought I'd be able to overclock until I bought a whole new system (which will happen... eventually). For now though, I have a Phenom 9150e on the way. Anybody have any luck with it? I thought I've seen on here that some have gotten it to work and some haven't. I have the HP Nettle2 board.
Also, my temps are at 43C under max load (I love the Antec 620) so I want to push it harder. My voltage is at 1.4v, HT is at 4x, BUS at 222, 4GB of 667MHz ram set to 1.7x, running at 739MHz. If I go to 223 it is stable, but at 224 it is less stable - so I backed off to 222. I tried lowering my RAM to 1.3x in order to acheive a BUS of 250 (to meet the 1000MHz which is where it was at stock), but changing my CPU multiplier to 13x wasn't working (even set at 14x with my current settings won't work, it HAS to be set to auto). Anyone know why? Or anyone know how to better overclock the Athlon x2 5600+ over 3.13GHz? Am I at the peak wattage of my socket already or something? I calculateI'm pulling around 105W on a board meant for 89W, so I just assume I've pushed it to it's limit.
Update: just installed ATI Radeon HD 6770 graphics card and before the bios posts I hear something "spin up, soft beep (not a bios beep), slow down, repeat." I have read elsewhere that this is because the bios doesn't recognize the GPU and many were solved with bios updates correcting the problem. Any chance in tweaking the bios to fix this?
Also the Phenom x4 9150e does not boot with the bios from this forum (the one with voltage tweaking).
