[REQUEST] Acer Aspire E1-571(G) BIOS Unlock
#21

OH -> OverHeating

The issue we're having right now is flashing the modifications. I think this is because Acer's can only use the crisis recovery with the bios that they originally had installed when purchased.

If you can boot into an efi file, then try this. There should be settings related to the fan that can be changed.

Does anyone have working Acer's 2.14 bios modded. I'd be interesting in comparing the differences between it and the original version Big Grin

Yeah, which isn't a huge deal but it isn't flashing in crisis mode, either. As I said, though, it won't beep if the filename is wrong, so it's definitely seeing and recognizing the file. It just refuses to flash it and reboots.

Question
Hi... Please Help me, I have new laptop ACER ASPIRE E1-571G with Intel Core i5-3230M 2.6GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz..
NVIDIA GeForece GT 620M with 1 GB Dedicated VRAM.
besides integrated GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 Ivy Bridge GT2.
4 GB DDR3 Memory.
Motherboard: Acer EA50_HC_CR
The BIOS brand is: InsydeH2O

The Original BIOS version that came with the laptop was 2.08, I updated it to the latest BIOS version from the ACER official site, and now the BIOS version is 2.15.

in both versions - the original and the updated version - there's no effective option but just the Boot order... I want to have the full Menus to be shown and available, like: Advanced tab, Power, and all possible tabs and options...

Here you're screenshots of the BIOS:

All Screens in one compressed file, Download from here.

Please Help, I've been searching for long time, all people told me about this forum and they were sure that you'll help me, so I'm eager to your help... thanks in advance... God bless you.

I can mod if for you guys, but flashing it will be your responsbility to figure out. I only have expirence with HP computers, so I'm not sure if flashing modded bios is different for Acers. So how about it, the modded bios rom for $10? Big Grin

These are the same bios that we were working on in this thread. None of them were able to find out a way to flash the modded bios rom, so I can't confirm wether or not my modifications worked as expected. I guess all of them gave up Tongue

I have an Acer Aspire E1-571-6454 Preloaded with Windows 8. I havent updated to windows 8.1 yet.
i5-3210M @2.5GHz
6gb Ram
Intel HD4000
With EUFI partition

I currently have BIOS version V2.17 Rev. 3.7

I would like to request an unlock of the BIOS for the advanced menu in order to overclock the gpu frequency. I attempted to do this through Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility but upon applying new frequency it disables manual tuning and doesnt apply the change. Acer seems to have it blocked as i already had to uninstall acers intel hd 4000 driver and switch it out for the one from intel since it was being dumb and rendering games very oddly and unplayable. Also all of the manual tuning for the cpu are blocked and cannot be changed from the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.

I had gone to THIS page but was iffy since im not that profound in BIOS and would not like to brick my pc.

So if possible, could anyone unlock the BIOS for the advanced settings

You can download the bios from HERE under the BIOS section set for windows 8 x64-bit and says " BIOS - UEFI for Windows 8 (Not for Upgrades)" meaning it is for machines preinstalled with windows 8

I would most likely be able to throw in a $5 bounty (not trying to be cheap but as a college freshman I have a tight budget)

I'm addin a reply only for those ones who want to know how is done the trick to flash Eeprom in recovery mode on Acer Aspire E et V series !
They have done a USB HDD AutoBootable image file which contains the "Flashit.exe" in the boot code and the bios file is as XXXX.fd present into.
So, when laptop boot from an USB port load the program and writes file to Eeprom.
They use an utility "USBImage.exe" to make Image File copy on USB Stick (USBimg32.ima) You can use WinImage to look into.
That's it.
With regards
