Hello there! I'm new to this site so please move my thread if its in the wrong area. I have a Compaq Presario CQ57 (2011) that I just reformatted to factory settings, and i'd like to see if I could beef up the power a bit. The problem; this things BIOS is locked up tighter than a crabs buttocks. Heating is not an issue, I cleaned the heatsink and applied fresh thermal paste to the cpu, and I have a 120mm fan I can sit it on. I just want to know how I can unlock the motherboard so I can overclock.
My specs are:
HP 3577 mainboard, chipset is A40/A50 series FCH. (I do not know what the PLL is)
AMD C-50 dual-core CPU (Ontario)
Samsung 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
ATI Radeon HD 6250 graphics
250GB 5200rpm Samsung HDD.
I'm not really expecting anything but I would be super greatfull if you guys could help me get in there and really start digging. If you need more info I can provide it. Thanks!
