[READ FIRST] Access Advanced settings through EFI shell

HP Pavillion dv7-1270us,BIOS unlock

Hi to all,
I need help with the following problem.
(If this is not the right place to post this tread,please give a link,)

I want to be able to switch AHCI/off/on/ from the BIOS,but there is no such option,
after searching through forums i understand that my BIOS,is intentionally locked,(HP Pavillion dv7-1270us)
I can not fined motherboard manufacturer(Compal/Intel) drivers for the bios,
Main purpose is another software to be able to detect a Xbox360 DVD Drive trough eSATA port.
If someone have a BIOS that i can use please post link,
If someone have ideas please wright,

Hi Falseclock,

Would greatly appreciate it if you could guide me through getting the advanced tab unlocked or the AHCI option and/or the RAID - IDE functions unlocked on my InsydeH20 BIOS menu. I WILL donate you or this site money if you can help me out with this, thanks I am a total newbie.

This is really interesting, if I get it right, one can set the needed option in the bios without modding it, just passing the needed variable value throug efi shell. Amazing. I'm actually in the need of checking the value of some option in the Acer E1-571G bios, and change them if needed.
I think my FW is encrypted, and I'd need help in getting the Setup Menu decrypted. I can't find the tools ppl are talking about, and the ones I got won't decrypt it. Any help wiil be appreciated.

(you need to run the exe to get the FW: run it and as soon the error message appears, go in your temp folder and it's in a 7zip tmp folder)
I can try to dump my actual FW if someone can tell me where I can find tools that can do it.

I know this thread is mainly for editing settings through the shell but has anyone succeeded in unlocking the advanced menu on a non RSA signed bios?

Hi! So, I can't run the Perl script, same errors as mentionned before...
Anyone can help me to decrypt my bios file ?

Ideally, I'd like to have all the logfile for modifying like I want, but if this is impossible, I'd just like to be able to enable AHCI and see what I can do after that

Oh and I've tried many differents ways before finding this forum, never be able to do anything with my bios.. And before posting here, I tried all methods on @donovan6000's blog without any success.. (UEFI bios, can't get your tools to work )

Anyway, thanks for reading this and trying to help me !
