HP DV6 F.1B BIOS MOD THAT DOESN'T CMOS RESET

(11-24-2013, 07:55 AM)shnyaps Wrote: donovan6000, in this bios there are maaaany options for decreasing
battery using. Is it possible for donation to add some options for
overclocking?

Nope. The way we make these options avaliable is by removing the code that makes them invisible. So since there's no overclocking settings in the bios to start with, we can't make them visible. Out of the dozens of bios I've worked with, I've seen 1 that still contained overcloking features. So it's extreamly rare for those options to exists in anyones bios Tongue

Juste made a donation to you Donovan for your awesome work.

I've stumbled upon Lightskreen's threads on insanelymac.com a couple of days ago and started to read your blog as this was EXACTLY what I was looking for regarding hackingtoshes DSDT and bios mods.

Thank you for this mod. But as mentioned in Lightskreen's threads (regarding his motherboard replacement ^^), there something about the integrity of cryptRSA.efi and the unability to use the recovery in case of bad flash.

Is this bios (the one linked in the first post of this topic) concerned by this problem or not ?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers

I tried Donovan's bios. Clicked exe file, system restarted, in the bios update menu i got this "bios update failed". What can i do? Thanks...

My bios's orginal softpaq name is: sp55068

Edit: I renamed hp_tools and tried again. Now it is ok! Thank you donovan6000 and Lightskreen!

Unless your willing to donate, then I'm wont remove the bluetooth whitelist. I don't have a lot of free time anymore to do things like mod bios.

Hello Donovan, I've been testing this bios and selected the option to first graph ... PEG and desable IGP and after restarting the laptop did not start over and I can not do the recovery procedure, you would have some tip to reset the bios or recovery ? Sorry for the English. Note: I have the bios programmer in case. Thnks.

I guess you should attempt a blind reset. So when your computer starts up:
1. Press F10 and wait a few seconds so that you'll know if went into the setup utility.
2. Press F9 then Enter. This'll restore defaul settings.
3. Press F10 then Enter. This'll exit and save settings.

Also I don't recommend anyone use the bios that lightskreen posted in the first post. It has some problems with recovering becuase he requested a certain feature.

Ok, I'll try, I forgot to mention, the model is Hp 6195ca with 2 video cards, in my attempt to edit the bios with binary editor to be recorded with bios programmer I compared with the original bios and has 68Kb more, starting bios at offset 00011000, could tell me what would that part? Sorry for the inconvenience, thank you.
