Hello all,
I'm having trouble with VT-D/IOMMU on my Asus board. This is an issue Asus has had on several of their boards. I found this site by following this link:
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Ra...able-issue
This user's post contains the same issue I'm having.
This has been fixed by Asus on a different board. The memory address in question was different, but the issue can be seen here: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/xen/users/241084 The user had an issue with bios version 1304 and the very next version of the bios has a changelog indicating that the only major change (at least, for the public) was an improvement for VT-d compatibility.
The bios downloads for this board are here: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERT...8/#support if having a differential will help this issue.
The bios download for my board is here: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/RAMPAGE...A/#support
Is anyone willing to work with me on this issue?
Ultimately, since Asus engineers did not implement VT-d correctly in any of their bioses, I'd really appreciate getting a step by step guide written on what you do to fix my board's bios so that any users that come after me can see how to do it themselves.
I'm attempting to use Xen hypervisor and will be glad to document how any solution we find ends up working out for me. Any assistance will be very appreciated!
