Hello everyone,
I need some help how to fix my HP Pavilion dm4-2015dx BIOS.
I did managed to update BIOS into F.16 (original BIOS is F.03 it under Windows 7 environment successfully and shutdown it and reboot again without any issues.
But doing restart under Windows, it cant boot-up anymore.
I do clearing the CMOS and it can boot-up again. I do it every time it can't boot.
And my second issue is I can't format the HDD using this notebook. Therefore, I used other means to install Windows (no drivers) in other unit but its end-up of corrupted OS when use in my HP laptop.
Now my request is that this BIOS have Advance option enabled in the BIOS menu. Since I don't have any tools to modify the .FD bios file from HP.
I am willing to donate, or pay someone to help me NOT brick my HP dm4-2191us. I want to install a AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB Wireless AC PCI-e card in my laptop, and I'd like it to be on the latest Bios (as of this posting):
I have no problem downgrading. If someone can modify any of the bios versions previous to F.17, I'm fine with that. I tried a F.12 version I found, but it wouldn't work, no matter what I tried. The irony was, I was able to downgrade my bios to F.12 just fine, using the HP BIOS updates, but it wouldn't "downgrade" to the same version, using the modded BIOS.
I would prefer something more modern, as the bios mods after F.12 contain the keyboard fix. If someone could mod F.16, or F.14, that would be perfect for me. If someone could remove all the WIFI whitelist, or just add the card I want, I would make it worth their time.
Im sorry but the chances of brick with SP6 (what you call modern) are 100%, with SP59 I'ld say 70%, with SP55 we will be cool...
But be cool as in case of brick it is recoverable
I'll try F14, but if it does not work we will need to keep downgrading further if you want your mod...
Here, try this:
Oddly, I downgraded to F.13, rebooted, and when the system came back up, I tried to upgrade with your BIOS, and the same thing I experienced yesterday, I'm experiencing today. It says: "Error: Boot block cannot support to downgrade. The system BIOS will not be updated". The funny thing is on the Version fields, it actually shows: Current BIOS as F.13, and New BIOS listed as F.14. The ID's are identical at 1651.
The log file shows:
