[REQUEST] Lenovo G510 (79CNxxWW) Whitelist Removal
#51
I should point out that recovery flashing on the Lenovo G510 is done by removing the battery, holding "Fn" + "R" and plugging in AC power, and then powering on... however, I'm scared to try and flash the above, as it the instructions point out that it is for "your pc only", is that referring to the G510? or the other users specific laptop? I'd be happy to give this a go though.

Go ahead and try recovery flash, it'll not brick the pc, but I think lenovo does not flash on recovery mode, another guy tried but it didn't work, the BIOS didnt get flashed

That's weird, it reads from the flash drive (SD card + reader), you can see the activity light blink like 20 times, it just seems to do this over and over, eventually I stopped it... and although nothing looks different in the setup, and I'm unable to use my other mini-pci wifi card... something is peculiar...

When I use Lenovo's BIOS update tool AFTER trying to use recovery, it will flash the same 3.05 BIOS, even though it's the same version number... after it successfully flashes, I get the normal expected response from the Lenovo BIOS update tool "The version of the ROM file is the same as that of BIOS"... So something gets flashed, but I'm not sure what, however recovery clearly does SOMETHING.
