[REQUEST] HP dv6 6034tx

I need AHCI option in this BIOS, other settings and features would be handy, however AHCI is priority.

Here is the driver page http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...5740#N1754

And the BIOS update file http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55068.exe

Thanks in advance.

Here you go! Big Grin

Unlocked the Advanced and Power tabs, removed the WIFI and Bluetooth whitelists, and enabled Hackintosh native power management by removign the lock on the 0xE2 MSR register. Enjoy Cool

And if you'd want to donate, then that'd be awesome Smile

Thanks for your work however the update failed, I think it's because the laptop already has the same version number BIOS?
"update failed", system still works normally and no new features in the BIOS..

Yeh I tried this several times now, it won't flash over the current BIOS.
How can I force it to flash or is there a way to make it work?

Based on what your saying, it sounds like you still have an HP_TOOLS partition. Temporarily rename it to something like HP_TOOLSS so that InsydeFlash.exe wont detect it. Then InsydeFlash.exe will take care of the flashing process without passing over the responsibility to HP_TOOLS.

Okay Will try this now.

It still isn't working.
I pulled this from a log file..

ERROR code : 3010(00000Bc2)

Are you getting any kind of error messages from InsydeFlash.exe?

Is it definitely InsydeFlash.exe that is flashing the bios and not HP's flasher tools in HP_TOOLS?

Certainly from InsydeFlash, there is a text document in the bios update files that seems to keep a log it is called InsydeFlash

You probably know better than me, but could it be because my current bios version is the same as the modded one?
What if the bios version number is changed to a higher number, maybe that might let it flash it?

Also there is no HP tools recovery partition.

I keep just getting "The BIOS system update failed" that's what it shows when it tries to reboot and flash the new bios.

If it was about a version error, then InsydeFlash.exe would generate a dialog box telling you this.

Can you go more into detail about exactly what happens. InsydeFlash.exe flashes the new bios before rebooting. It should not be rebooting before flashing the new bios. The more you talk about it, the more it seems like HP_TOOLS is what is trying to flash it.

HP_TOOLS is not HP's recovery partition. These are two seperate things that aren't connected.
