I have an Acer Aspire V3 551
I would like to use the modified bios for 2.14
I currently have 2.04
The fans aren't spinning fast enough so my system is overheating, many have suspected it is a bios fan issue, I need the ability to control my fan speeds and disable things like AMD Cool N' Quiet.
Before I start, is it worth upgrading to 2.14 first? or should I try to downgrade from 2.04?
The available Bios updates for my laptop are:
2.11 http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...ER&SC=PA_6
2.14 (UEFI) http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...ER&SC=PA_6

It doesn't matter as for Upgarde or Downgrade needs Recovery Mode and It will rewrite all Bios into Eeprom !

I haven't found anything in the modified BIOS that controls fan speed, but there is a setting to disable Cool N Quiet (although, I'm interested to hear how that would help temps).

I have the modified 2.14 bios, I was worried about my laptop as temp readings were in the upper 90's, like idle at 98-105c but I know that can't be right (I hope!) otherwise the system would be shutting down but it performs well and is never too hot to touch on any vents. I can't seem to boost fan speeds but I do know they work.
It looks like a case of a damaged thermal sensor, I know some laptop manufacturers like Dell have a key combination that resets the thermal sensor, I don't know if Acer has one (I believe it was FN + F7 or something like that)

The modified bios for 2.14 + Menus unlocked works well: http://rghost.net/56175951
I however have a request, could you add to the bios support for the AMD A10-5750M Processor (this bios only supports up to A10-4600M) ($38 upgrade btw!)
The bios will post with A8-4500M - CPUID: 610F01
The bios will not post with A10-5750M - CPUID: 610F31h
So could you post an updated bios with the A10 CPUID added? would that be too difficult?
These CPU's are the same socket and wattage
Compare both:
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-A8-4500M-vs-AMD-A10-5750M
the A10-5750M can be purchased for about $125, a significant upgrade and a rare opportunity for laptop owners who would rather pay $125 as apposed to $700+ for a brand new high-end gaming laptop which is what most companies want.

Do you own the A10 CPU yet? What happens when you try booting with it?

I don't own one yet however I have a report from another Aspire V3-551G owner that does own the A10-5750M with the appropriate memory

I'd like to add the a10-5750m cpu micro code to the bios.
It's the AMD A70M - is there a cpu support list for the AMD A70M Chipset?
We also used 4GB X 2 DDR3-1866 because of the a10's 1866 memory controller.
WHAT WORKS is a8-4500m = 610F01
WHAT WON'T POST is a10-5750m = 610F31h
THANKS
I'm asking that specific user to register on this forum if he isn't already

Can you upload the 2.14 unlocked bios again? I want to tweak my acer v3-551g, so far upgraded from a10-4600m to a10-5750m. I need to get that 1866 memory running at those speeds as it is stuck at 1600 for now, thanks in advance

Here's the bios: http://www.firedrive.com/file/C765B47A9407D729
Thanks for the bios, will post results if any, when I have time.
