[REQUEST] Lenovo V580(c) (H1ETxxWW) Whitelist Removal
(06-25-2014, 08:41 AM)IIIypuk Wrote: there is other error using the second version of fparts.txt from your last response.
Command fptw64 -f bios.bin -bios raises Error 252: Image file "bios.bin" not found. According to help -f parameter writes image to bios. But i didnt have bios.bin file. According to the same help -d paramenter makes a dump of bios. I tried this one but i have an error Error 26: The host CPU does not have read access to the target flash area. To enable read access for this operation you must modify the descriptor settings to give host access to this region. There is the same error when I executed it in DOS.

This tool tries to write BIOSMOD.BIN to bios. Is it safety? I'm little bit nervous.
Does it not damage my bios and broke laptop at all?

Don't use It !!! please I will write if It is quite !
It's an old tool an I don't remember how It work !

Don't use It !!!

If You want You can unpack it by 7Zip and copy all files in your USB DOS
then delete flash.bat and BIOSMOD.BIN and run this comand

C:\fpt -d bios.bin -bios

All list I sent are not good for your laptop or one has gave a good result ?
I dont know how to rewrite in Eeprom your Bios !
This is my issue friend.

I can create a dump of bios. I used the last tool (TEST_USB-STICK.exe), removed biosmod.bin and flash.bat files. Reboot to DOS and run command
fpt -d bios.bin -bios. It raises error "Error 104: The 2 SPI flash devices do not have compatible command sets.",
After that I replace 0xC7 to 0x60 for W25Q64BV from
Code:
W25Q64BV, 0xEF4017, 0x4000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0xC7, 80000
to
Code:
W25Q64BV, 0xEF4017, 0x4000000, 0x1000, 0x20, 64, 0, 0x60, 80000
as you did and rerun it command fpt -d bios.bin -bios again. at now it can create a dump of bios and bios.bin file exists.

Wow You're great have found the Eeprom definition for your chip !
Now We have a way to flash, using the same fparts.txt !
Try to use FPTw or FPTw64 from Windows, changing into FPT 8.1 folder that
modded fparts.txt working and let me know if now It works well from windows
too !
I will proceed to Mod your Bios and upload It here !

But the second image has some differences from the first one made under dos. Are these changes not significant?
