HP Pavilion BIOS mod for RAID settings
#1
Hi everyone,
I have a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion dv7 - 2030ev laptop with an F.12 BIOS, dated 23/3/2009. Since the laptop had two HDD bays I decided to add a second 750 Gb disc to complement the existing 250 GB one. After I bought the disc I discovered that my laptop was not set to RAID 0 and there is no RAID setting in this BIOS (too late).
I am a fisrt year electronic engineering student but as for BIOSes I am a complete noob. I have seen in other threads that some of you have faced this exact situation before but with more modern computers.
I do not have enough money for professional help, plus it would be very educating and interesting to do it by myself, so, unless there is already a modded version, I would like to ask if there is someone here willing to show some basic stuff on how to do this so that I don't end up with a bricked computer.
I thank you all in advance!

Yes, it's great, I've been reading donovan6000's blog this past week. It has been most helpful in understanding how things work when one wants to modify his BIOS, but since there are so many compatibility issues and since I have no experience in restoring a bricked computer, I need someone to get me started. I just need to know if I am using the right tools for the job. Donovan6000's blog covers most of the rest, I think.
