(I learned of this about 3 wks. ago when rebooting into BIOS and these settings were made available. Must be a flag was set accidentally during shutdown-reboot.) Any help out there for me?
I have the backup of the BIOS from the Insyde Flash utility for version 2.01 and 2.03. I'd prefer the 2.03 BIOS, but I saw that 2.01 has already been modded by BDMaster.
The 2.01 VERSION BIOS:

The 2.03 VERSION BIOS:

Hi friend,
the two versions are almost the same so gave same Mods, I can do both without problem !
We can use Files You uploaded so I will extract a Bios Generalized version and I will Mod It or You can do a Bios Backup of your Bios 2.01 or 2.03 which do You want and then I will Mod It !
I can suggest to use first one You have got on laptop now and then try the second !
Let me know, how do You want to do, but use this tool, run It as Asministrator and upload here the result file :

http://rghost.net/56932575

Use thistool too and upload result file here :

Just found your reply. You are awesome doing this for me. I'm a programmer, too, but BIOS is way out of my area.
Downloading files as I reply. will post when I have required data. Since you say it's no trouble between the 2.03 and 2.01 BIOS versions, I would like to do the 2.03 BIOS. Thank you very much. Big Grin

PS - Are you saying these two BIOS files are ready to flash now?

Yes these are Generalized versions based on Bioses You uploaded, but if do You want We can do Mods based on your Backup !
Just make a Bios Backup before try them of your actual Bios, to be sure to have a BackDoor !!!

Could not run "Universal BIOS Backup". At all. Could not even save the file. AV reported a virus that allows remote system management. So I'll not even attempt to run that program. The USB bootkey tool you recommended, rufus, dropped a virus that required a reboot for full removal. The other bootkey tool could not be saved due to virus detection. So, at this point I'm a little spooked and not sure I want to try flashing the 1,703,835 bytes of modifications in bios.bin to my laptop. Now I'm afraid it will brick on me.

Sorry. I really want to believe you're helping, but there are so many out there that are malicious that I can't take the chance that I'll end up with a $1000 brick. Sad Sorry I used your time up. I guess that for now I'll just have to deal with the fact that I only have 64MB dedicated video memory and some apps will refuse to run because of that.

I ran the FPT tool and got a copy of my BIOS. I've zipped it for you using 7Zip.
I hope you can understand my reluctance about the other tools. The Universal tool just gave a general hit so was probably a false positive, but the other, rufus 1.49 tried to install something when I ran it. Is it okay to use the HP boot disk tool for this? I hope so.

Anyway, thanks again for the help. I hope the uploaded file is correct. I ran the FPT from inside Windows. Let me know if it is something that needs to run from a DOS boot. Smile
PS - This is the original 2.03 BIOS.

Just thought you should know, the first two files I uploaded for you were generated as backup copies by Lenovo's version of the Insyde flash utility.

Just installed the modded 2.03 generalized BIOS. YOU ARE THE MAN!!! Got all my BIOS menus and options. Theres no way I can thank you enough for this. You are truly a god of BIOS modifications! Smile Smile Smile
PS - Sorry I was spooked by my AV before. You know how it is nowadays, though. Fear is a powerful motivator, but your reply helped me get past that. Thanks again. Smile

PS - How you could do that so fast is beyond me... Your brain is truly the greatest tool you can use.

After installing the generalized BIOS for version 2.03 I of course looked at all the settings and noticed that you had it set to default to a 256MB video memory allocation. But in Windows the memory setting was still only at 64MB dedicated graphics memory. Is there something I need to do in the BIOS to force the change in Windows? Or is it something that will not change with the generalized BIOS?

Hi friend,
if into your Bios Settings is shown as 256 MB It would be 256 MB and now I think It's a Windows issue (may be driver has It locked) I haven't much experience in Lenovo Bios Setting !
I am sorry Sad

I'm running Windows 7 (not from Lenovo). The driver is downloaded from Intel. I tried uninstalling the video driver; rebooting; reinstall the driver; uninstall; reboot; install older driver; then repeated a 3rd time to reinstall the newest driver. There is no Lenovo software installed other than a manually installed power management driver.
This one perplexes me. Confused By the way, the CPU is i5-3230 on HM76 chipset. Does that help?

Was the BIOS I uploaded correct? If not, I can reinstall the 2.03 or 2.01 from Lenovo (at your direction) and try making the backup for you again.

Hey, I just checked a couple of my other laptops that use integrated graphics from Intel and Windows 7 is reporting 64MB for all of them, even though one is not capable of allocating more than 32MB of dedicated memory. Must be a problem with Win7.

May be as I said Win7 driver for that Video Card (I know that It's an Integrated GM Intel Chipset), but the issue is same for any Video Card Integrated !
I cannot help forward, I am sorry.
