[Request]GA-EP45T-UD3LR bios(ram support)
#1
I have 4x4GB crucial ram, none of it work. The mainboard itself support 16GB, but only a select few is on the official supported list. Can anyone add newer ram support for the bios? Thanks.
My ram is a 1600mhz cas 11 normal one.
It has this code CT51264BA160BJ.
If only if it work T_T

I looked at your memory layout and there is nothing unusual about it. It is set to 512M x 64 which is fairly typical. I do not have your MB model but I have a 4x4GB Patriot 2133 CL11 series (512M x 64) in my GA-EP45T-USB3 and it works fine with the same chipsets. Your assessment that the bios needs an update to enhance memory support may be correct since Gigabyte's bios history indicates that they have made updates to enhance memory support a couple of times.

There are three revisions of the GA-EP45T-UD3LR: rev 1.0. rev 1.1, and rev 1.3. Which version do you have and what bios revision is currently installed?

I have rev 1.0, I didnt mention the rev cause I think they have the same bios.
I tried to install various bios, from F1 to F12e and still see the problem. Maybe I should use Q flash instead of @Bios. Or may be using your motherboard bios? Maybe? My old Apacer 2gb work just fine.
By the way, I try to install 2x2gb of kingmax FLFE85F-B6HY9-HPE and it does not work either.

I found Q-flash to be the easiest and most reliable method of bios upgrade. Give it a try instead of the @Bios .
Have you enabled the "Load Optimized Defaults" after each bios upgrade? This step is supposed to reset the bios settings and allows redetection of the hardware on the next boot.
There is a chance your power supply may be marginal. In the bios PC Health Status, is the 1.5V for the DRAM optimal and steady? A temporary PS substitution may be warranted to eliminate it as a problem source.
Have you tried underclocking the FSB using the MB Intelligent Tweaker to see if the DRAM will boot at lower clock rates?
I'll take a look tonight at the rev 1.0 bios and send you an update but I suspect the root cause is elsewhere.

I tried Q-Flash but it not recognise any of my flash drive, might have to get a floppy disk.
I leave "load CMOS defaut" ticked on each flash.
My power supply is a new Zalman 600w, 1.5V steady.
I have install a PC speaker though, when a 2GB Kingmax FLFE85F-B6HY9-HPE is installed, my MB will not POST and have continuous beeps. These beeps is for memory corruption which is not(crazy?).
I have sent all my crucial to a friend to test and he found no problem in memtest. I hold the 2GB Kingmax for now, install each time on a single slot only and still beeping. Maybe the motherboard does not read single side 2GB-4GB ram?
I truly hope the update will fix. I'm already give up on Gigabyte support.
By the way, F12E mess up my audio while not solving any problem.

I made the following changes to to a GA-EP45T-UD3LR rev 1.0 F10 bios:

southbridge - v12902006 with the TRIM mod
RTL8111C ethernet - rtegrom260.lom
ICHAACHI 1.2 original from a EP45-USB3P
Updated NCPUCODE

Gigabyte bios' contains a module called ds3_ddr3.bin which should be for the RAM. It does get changed to improve memory compatibility as the change log indicated. I can't see any fault in it in any of the bios revisions but I will look more into it as I find more information. The update contains the original ds3_ddr3.bin.

If you use Q-Flash, boot the machine with the flash already installed into the USB port to insure it gets recognized. Try Optimized Defaults instead of the CMOS defaults after bios update.

If you still can't POST, use your good memory to set the DRAM settings manually. In the bios Intelligent Tweaker, try disabling the SPD timings and set them to CL-tRCD-tRP 11-11-11 CAS to 13 and set the DRAM voltage to 1.6V and then try to reboot. If this doesn't work, lower the DRAM voltage to 1.4V. The idea is to see if we can change the timing behavior at boot by varying the DRAM supply voltage.

Flashed with Q-flash but still beeping on POST. I tried to change the cas and voltage too, the old Apacer work fine, Kingmax is still beeps.
Feel like something is terribly wrong with my motherboard. rev 1.0 must have some problem.

It's a long time but it seem like via easytune the mobo does not seem to recognise my CPU as x3220 but Q6600, does that make a problem? Should I need a micro code update?
Edit: Turn out it is CPU problem, only the x3220 does not work with the new ram. The older dual core pentium work fine:
