Just picked up a near pristine NV52L06u to use as a primary laptop. Had an A10-5750M on hand from a prior unit, and wanted to put it in. The socket supports it, it's the same TDP as the A6-4400M in it, and the NV52L has a sub model w/ the A10-4600m, so I figured it'd work. I was wrong. Sys powers up and illuminates the screen, interacts w/ the HDD too, but no full POST. Fan goes to max after a short bit too. From reading other posts, seems the CPU just isn't compatible w/ the firmware. Tested the a6-4400m again, and all is well, so I didn't damage anything. I'd like to be able to mess w/ RAM settings and such as well since I have 2x4GB low latency DDR3 1866 RAM, which I've already confirmed as working w/ the A6.
Gateway NV52L06u
latest non-full UEFI BIOS: http://global-download.gateway.com/GDFil...Y&SC=PA_6G
note: you have to extract the .exe, then run 7zip or winRAR on the .exe to get the .fd file which is 4096kb.
Sorry I don't have screenshots of the BIOS, didn't take the time to pull the A10 for a 2nd time, and figure I'll use the recovery procedure if I'm able to get a modded BIOS.
Thank you
