Hello guys,
I know that the topic an old, but I still use the ASUS P5K MB. A few days ago I bought and installed the Samsung SSD 850 PRO 512GB. I wanted to turn on AHCI mode, but there I encountered a problem - in BIOS for SATA portsĀ I have only IDE mode.
So I tried camiloml modified BIOS. In fact I had to mod his BIOS because I installed Xeon E5450 CPU, but there are, in fact, only add microcodes so BIOS could correctly identify the Xeon. It all was fine. However, when I'm on SATA-1 connected SSD, and to SATA-3 connected 1TB HDD WD1002FAEX, there was a problem. Although I'm in the BIOS set SATA ports to AHCI
BIOS nothing is detected on any port
I thought it was because it happened right after flashing the BIOS. I saved settings and started the boot. Unfortunately not moved away from startup screen.
SSD is detected as an IDE although is set as AHCI, andĀ couldn't detect HDD and not continued on booting, until I disconnected HDD from SATA-3 slot.
Is there a way to specifically configure SATA slots, or at least in pairs SATA-1 and 2 (AHCI) and SATA-3 and 4 (IDE)?
