rly? aren't the clocks and voltages locked? :o the overclocking options are locked in the bios.
edit: since my bios isnt locked, is there a way to add an overclocking option to it?

No sorry , if the options are not there we cannot add them

The options arent always locked , sometimes (and in this case) they are completely removed from the bios or not even put there to start with!

Sorry

Not sure if this helps, but I have this boared and about a month ago I was looking for an unlocked BIOS too. I managed to stumble across a Packard Bell BIOS that I decided to try out of frustration and it actually has the ability to adjust FSB. I have attached the file I used. If I remember right, one I ran the exe, it created the bootable floppy.

I have managed to use it to overclock a Pentium D 805 to about 3.4GHz (I think - haven't played with it for about a month). I'm shooting for 4GHz, but I can't go any higher because there's no vcore adjustments available. I also noticed that the speed of the memory never changed (according to CPU-z), just the speed of the CPU, so it looks like the CPU FSB isn't linked to RAM, PCI, or PCI-e. I think I took it to about 178 or 180 FSB.

Could I request that this BIOS be looked at and see if the vcore is hidden & could be unlocked also? Oh, and can something be done about the big Packard Smell splash screen on boot?

- - I had to remove the "exe" from the attachment so the file needs to be renamed to be used. -

- - OK.. I can't seem to attach the file even after renaming it, so here's a url to download the file... http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir3/file...ios_31.exe

thanks for the link but that site doesnt allow leeching! - Doesnt matter though because i found it anyway Tongue

Sadly the only thing left to unlock in this Packard Bell bios is a couple of fan readouts - not worth risking the flash for!

Thanks for pointing out this alternative bios though , it will help us with an upcoming project Big Grin

These retail bios may or may not work. Same chipset. I dont have this board to test it....

(this bios has a few different version depending on board options)

If you try any of these do so at your own risk. I am at work and have not looked to see if any of them have overclock options.

i have the same board as the original poster. my situation however is, i'm not using the 3 pin system fan. so everytime the cpu boots, there'll be an irritating message saying that the system fan has failed and prompt me to press F2 to continue. anything that can be done? no options in the bios that disables the fan check

Might just be easier to connect a random fan to the 3 pin so it stops nagging. You can buy 4 pin molex to 3 pin adapters now so you can get a nice big 120mm fan and put it on the back on the case or something and connect it to the 3 pin motherboard header.

Theres probably no point risking a bios mod to remove this message when you could just add another fan!
