GA-EP45C-DS3R latest IRST ROM
#1
for juhaszjani1988:

I updated the GA-EP45C-DS3R (rev. 1.0) F6a beta bios with the following:

Intel SATA AHCI 1.20E
Realtek - v2.60
Intel RAID - v12.9.0.2006
NCPUCODE.BIN

Try the RST 12.9 first since some folks were having some difficulties with the 13 series, myself included. The 12.9 is very stable and does work with SSDs.

Fortunately, your motherboard is equipped with Dual Bios and you should be able to recover provided you do not have any other hardware issues. Your MB should automatically detect a faulty bios and boot from the second bios after several attempts to load the main bios. Gigabyte provides an explanation on this web page "http://www.gigabyte.com/microsite/55/tech_081226_dualbios.htm". There are you-tube videos that show what to expect.

If for some reason it cannot recover using Dual Bios, I will refer you to this web page where the author forced the MB to use the backup bios. (http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/339...ailed.html)

I retraced my steps and I correctly used the GA-EP45C-DS3R rev 1.0 F6a beta bios from the Gigabyte website. I compared it with your "original.bin" file from the zippy account and both have the same motherboard identifier. It should have worked.

When you say "bricked", do you mean it cannot POST? Is there anything unusual about your setup? Are you using a Xeon CPU with a sticker? How did you install the bios and was the flashing interrupted? Is you power supply OK? Have you tried shorting the "CLEAR CMOS" pins and/or removing the battery to insure that the previous bios settings are cleared?

I use xeon cpu but your bios cant boot up, changed to an original 775 cpu and i get infinite short beep code and wonb boot up.
The automatical recovery dont work, I connected #hold and ground pins on main bios, and the backap bios started.
U removed battery and cleared cmos. Never forget.

The original bios (in the backup chip) is f6a and is booted up with my xeon cpu.

It's on the Realtek server.

download the "PXE and RPL ROM code". Use the file with the *.lom suffix
