Have you tried the NVIDIA OC tool, cant remember the name. Anyhow ill try to give things a final look over to see if there isnt any other way.

If you mean ntune then yes i have. It works good while its open but once i close it the settings revert back to defaults.

just wondering if while you were looking around in my bios did you see anyway to make my cpu fan spin faster but not at max ? it runs around 15% but its silent al the way to 50% . i tried software for that too but it has the same problem, i have to re apply all the changes every time my computer reboots or i close then reopen the program.

for controlling fan speeds you can use the free program SpeedFan

i have speedfan but everytime i restart my computer i have to set it from 100% down to 50 and it just gets anoying so i was wondering if bios has options for that.

apart from the options under Smart Fan Control , there are no fan options in the bios

TheWiz,

Have you had a chance to add/unlock the "Frequency/Voltage Control" menu? It's been a couple months since anyone wrote in this thread, but this is the closest I've seen to a solution for overclocking with this mobo.

Could it work to use the MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2) 5.27 bios? The boards are identical except for color (as far as I found looking at specs).

Dalauder,

The boards are the exact same everything chipset wise, which makes me think its a good possibility, but not 100 percent sure. I know that the mod for the Nettle2 works flawlessly, but the Nettle2 MOD does not include voltage. If you wanna give it a go, and you have the means to recover, be my guest.

hope i dont get in trouble for bumping this but i still havent found a way to really do this and im now wanting to try a phenom II 955 on this board and would like to know if that is possible. Im trying to sell this computer and i hate that processor [i got the c2 version and now the c3 has way better overclock and lower temps] but if i can i just want to put that cpu on this board and sell it to a friend who is still using a pentium 3 >_<

Wow, I completly forgot about this board and its new potential. If you go to our award unlocked section, HP, Unlocked Nettle2, you will see we have flashed a RETAIL Abit BIOS to the HP boards and acer boards that support AM3 and have unlocked OC options. Im am pretty sure that this would work for this board too, because so far all of our boards with this chipset have successfully flashed to the mobo. In our studies though, we found that proccessors like the 955 are useless because they draw to much power and clock down. Your best bet is probably trying this bios, and using a Phenom II 905e 2.5GHZ denab 65W from newegg.
