Greetings

I am also experiencing same?/a problem with

Lenovo ThinkPad T61
Bios 7LETD0WW (2.30)
I have installed a replacement 'Intel WIFI 4965AGN MM2 - not branded Lenovo (with a FRU number)
The card is seen correctly and starts on the device manager - but the radio is off
the wifi switch works it enables and disables the wifi but the radio still stays off
Fn + F5 hot key brings the wireless control app, but the Radio stays off (or disabled if the front switch if off)
in the BIOS /network / internal lan PCI setting only offer the ON settings and it is set on ON but the OFF setting isn't present

I am interested in the patch to bypass the whitelist mentioned by BDMASTER :
but the link to the patch seem to be broken
any chance some one helping finding it, if it still exists?

Here is the ref to the link:

BDMaster,

you are an absolute Star! thank you very much for the files.
I used CD #2 first went through the flash but didn't update
so I reverted to CD#1 - I am running on a win 7 64bits - needed to disable the Security on the Chip (Bios/Security option) to get around
Error 99 on Bitlocker
Your updated bios then flashed like a dream ;0)
I can now see the ON/Off setting against Bios/Network/Internal wifi - which is a massive plus
my radio is still disabled somewhere but i am certain not from the Bios now - (may be a genuine hardware fault?)
so for me it's keep looking.

again thanks, I am happy to donate and support the great job you guys are doing

Hi friend,
look here about these kind issues (tapeing Pin #20 nd #51 can solve them) :

This is my last update on the subject:

Tapering Pin 20 on the card did the trick
Note: that i have tried to apply varnish first (3 layers) and it didn't work. reverted to cello-tape, might not be the best but for now....It WORKS
would it be fair to say, that the radio /OFF was lock from within the network card ...... locks everywhere!

Symptom:
BIOS/CONFIG/Network/ Wireless Lan Radio Frequency ON - OFF switch not appearing
card start ok in Device manager but Radio stays OFF for the internet (no issue with bluetooth)

Recap:
Lenovo T61 - Windows 7 ultimate 64bit - original BIOS 2.30 - 7LETD0WW
Wifi Card: Intel WIFI 4965AGN MM2 Mini PCI from general retail market, not Lenovo branded/compatible
BDMaster patch: CD#1 [Dual-IDA_SATA-II_Whitelist_SLIC21_Thermal_Sensing_Error_Thinkpad]
BitLocker error 99 : corrected after modifying BIOS/SECURITY/Security Chip => Set to INACTIVE from ACTIVE (re-setted back to active now)
Resulting BIOS: 2.29 - 7LETC9WW
Tapered Pin 20 on card to turn Radio ON
Minor outstanding issue: the Fn key and Ctrl keys are swapped and do not match keyboard layout, but i can live with that

Donated for the great work on this site
and finally, pass on my gratitude to BDMaster ;o)
Thanks, great site A+++++
