I wasn't sure where to post this thread. I wanted to make a new one so as not to clutter up another person's thread. A few months back in the Z500 bios thread, I explained that I flashed a modded bios on here to try and fix the whitelist wifi adapter on my Lenovo P500. They are pretty close to the Z500. The modded bios worked, but i went through the Bios and made 2 changes and when I rebooted, all I got was a black screen and then the power light turns off. I tried unsoldering the battery for the cmos to reset the bios and that did not work. Ive tried all the bios reset keys I could find online to no avail.
I broke down and bought an SPI programming and the adapters I need. Basically, I understand the jist of it, but Ive never programmed a bios manually before and Im not feeling 100% on the steps. I do feel completely comfortable stripping the laptop down and finding the bios chip and getting the files, but I don't know what type of chips they are, it looks like there are 2, what yall call 4+2 I think, but Im not sure how to flash them both, in what order. I've never used an SPI programmer, and the software is called MiniPro Programmer v6.10... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I ran some of the bios back up stuff before I ever started modding it, and I think I saved it, but im not sure what im looking at.
Programming and understanding computers is normal for me, but learning about modifying bios code and programming is something I have never done yet, but I am more than happy and willing to learn, if you guys would honor me with your time and tutelage.. Let me know if there is anything you need from me. Thanks.
