Intel Wolfdale bios upgrade for Shuttle SD37P2 V2
#1
Hi i'd need a little bios mod for my lan rigs bios.
Microcodes + CpuIDs.

The shuttle itself has a 975x chipset so it should work fine with 45nm C2D cpus but there is no cpuid bios updates done to it since QX6700. It even should support 333FSB 65mn C2D cpus.

Bios:

It's a award bios :)

Btw if possible could you put the max fsb higher than 355FSB, tho i have to check is that the clock generators max mhz.

Great!
I should check the glockgen's datasheet if it has more settings for fsb controll.

Sorry for the delay

What CPU were you looking at using on the board?

Well ive found a couple of boards that offer much better CPU support but their microcode files are far too big to fit into your current bios image!

I can try removing some things like onboard raid / onboard LAN / Splash screen picture / logo to free up some room if you want. Please tell me which of these features you arent using.

Well i'm now using E6420, planning to upgrade for E8400/E8500.

Well Logos and Splahs screens can go, Onboard Lan and Raid are too valuable.

Also you could remove the Pentium microcodes, i don't have use for em.

Your in luck! Removing the splash screens and logos gives a total of 123.77kb of free space and the new microcode is 123kb Big Grin

Heres your mod and a screenshot of microcode comparison.

Hi, I have version 1.0 of the shuttle SD37P2. Would this BIOS mod be compatible with my system also? I'd like to upgrade from my Core 2 Duo E6700 to a Core 2 Duo E8500. I currently have the latest BIOS version (37) from the Shuttle website.
CPU-Z reports my current BIOS is a Phoenix Technologies Ltd, version 6.00 PG, dated 05/15/2007. Chipset is i975X

PS - Even if I can't use the modified BIOS 1234s282 has posted above I'd just like to thank you for providing this kind of service for people, it's so annoying when perfectly good hardware is left unsupported by the manufacturer.
