I have an HP G60-533CL that I bricked whilst trying to update the BIOS. Since the BIOS file that I downloaded ends in .fd, it appears that the laptop uses an Insyde BIOS. I followed this guide here: https://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/...-recovery/
I've visited a lot of other forums and a lot of other guides, but I can't seem to get the laptop to respond appropriately to the various key combinations. The LEDs on the power button, the power indicator, and the battery indicator flash when I plug the laptop into a power source. When I turn on the laptop without pressing anything, the LEDs stay solid momentarily, and then turn off while the laptop is still powered on. When I attempt the FN + B or the <Windows> + B combination, the LEDs stay on until I unplug the laptop again. However, as I can tell from the solid LED on my flash drive, the computer is either not copying the BIOS from the drive or not reading the drive at all.
I don't have a flash drive smaller than 4GB. I've read somewhere that anything larger than 4 will not work, but maybe it has to be even smaller? Or is anything other than a floppy disk useless for this computer?
At this point, I'm fearing for the worst that the Boot Block is corrupted since it's not going into BIOS recovery mode no matter what key combination I try. I'm really confused as to why FN and <Windows> + B have the same effect, yet nothing else is happening.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
