[REQUEST] Lenovo Y50-70 (9ECNxxWW) BIOS Unlock
How To Downgrade :

snebob

Run this to downgrade:

http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobi...vy2113.exe

Remember to set the option in bios that enables you to flash an older bios, before you run it.

nop

I found another solution - Just in case it was ever needed.

Download the 1.14 version

http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobi...cn31ww.exe

Then use 7-zip to extract that .exe file, You will find a platform.ini file into that folder.

Then Look for "BIOSVFEnable=2" and replace it with "BIOSVFEnable=0", run as Administrator InsydeFlash.exe tool and go !

Verified working !

Then go into Bios Setup Menu Information and check your version about 1.13 or 1.14 !
When You are sure then use Flash from Windiws with or without Sleep Bug . . .

Unpack the Bios Mod and copy the "modified" folder into C: HD root place !
Then open Command Promt with Admin Rights (CLI window C:\), put your laptop
into Sleep Mode (just close the Lid) and then Wacke-Up It (reopen the Lid),
after this execute these comands from CLI window :

cd \

cd modified

fptw -f bios.bin -bios

(or fptw64 for Windows x64)

Then if You get error 28 then flash from Pure DOS using an USB Stick !
Follow instructions into ReadMe.txt file !
Let me know

I am scared to do the flashing of my BIOS because there is a chance of bricking my laptop right? I don't know how exactly do it and I didn't fully understand the instructions provided to me.

Could someone please look into the file I provided in page 1 and tell me the version of my BIOS? I don't know how to check honestly.

How do I run this flash exactly?

you have received detailed instruction from two sources

in your BIOS version is a mistake to sleep.

But Downgrading to v.1.14 You don't need the Sleep Bug You can flash your Bios
From Pure Dos using and USB Stick and Sml7 prr.exe tool !
It will work sme way , just Boot from USB !

Sorry for my noobishness on this case, but I'm having hard time understanding what I need to do to safely proceed with this.

1. I am on Windows 10
2. How do I see the version of my BIOS right now?
3. When do I follow the steps to flash it from the C: drive
4. When do I use the USB boot method?

Help would be appreciated.

To check Bios You can go into Bios Setup Menu Information Tab and see It !
Use AIDA64 Program and see It
Use Slic Toolkit here :

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...rt-Backup)

and many tools yet !

To reflash Bios Mod from USB on Error 28 !
I just wrote a book :

You have to use Rufus Tool to prepare the USB Stick !
You have to modify into Bios Setup to Boot from USB :

Disable SecureBoot
Set Legacy Bios USB

You the NOVO-Button on your Laptop try to use that to get a Menu !
Let me know

Hello  ,
I own a Lenovo Y50-70 UHD , I would unlock the bios to install OSX .
Someone is able to change the DVMT-prealloc BIOS setting to 128MB??
If you are able to unlock other functions will be grateful
I extracted the bios using Universal Bios Backup Toolkit v 2.0
This is my rom zipped:

https://mega.nz/#!eJdWjKCT!ntE5Jc7Iflyd4...3sIhSsAnu0

(actually the bios has  selected umd and secure boot off)

P.s.
Can you write the step to install the bios ?

I donate at soon as possible

Thank You
