Will Pay - Dell Inspiron 3543 Aptio V BIOS Unlock - Need To Change DVMT
#1
Hello all.

So for one of the new requirements for Broadwell in OS X El Capitan, it requires at least 96MB of DVMT-prealloc. I simply don't have that. Windows 7 says 64MB but it's not telling the truth. So when I boot into OS X I pass the assertion and a panic is raised. I'd rather not rely on faulty kext patches and would rather solve it at the root of the problem.

So, with Aptio V Bios Version: A06, how can I unlock the advanced menu to raise the DVMT value or find some other way to raise the DVMT value on BIOS?

Note: I have tried EFI SHELL and it gives me an offset error when I try to change the DVMT to the correct value.

I will even pay for whoever helps me out. Just let me know, guys. I'd love to have OS X working and this is the only thing stopping it. Tongue

I ran BACKUP_Tools12 as administrator in Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit but after the second line it froze the computer. I'm not sure why that happened, but here is the output from Universal Bios Backup:

Ok run It manually do do this procedure :

Unpack the tool, then rename the folder like "tool" and copy It into C: HD root place !
Then open Command Promt with Admin Rights (CLI window C:\), and execute these
comands from CLI window (hit the enter key after any command) :

cd \

cd tool

GO.BAT

It will create a result file or into the folder or on desktop, then upload It here

How do I unpack the tool? We are talking about BACKUP_Tools12.exe right? This cannot be extracted using 7zip.

Use WinRar v.5.20 or above !!!
It's important the result file to see if your Eeprom Chip is unlocked !

I have done as you said and ran GO.BAT (START.BAT in my case) and it still froze. I took a picture of where it froze and attatched it below.

It did drop some files, however. Maybe they will be of use. I have included the generated files below.
