Overclocking HP Pavilion P6340f
#1
I have reached several dead ends.

I am trying to overclock my p6340f however the BIOS has no features for changing voltage of FSB speeds. (Big surprise there >.>)

I have an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66ghz, this cpu is known to overclock pretty decently (to 3.2ghz)

setfsb does not have my PLL ID: CV193DPAG, although it does have CV193CPAG, in which I can underclock using this pll however I cannot overclock (I think it has to do with the voltage) setfsb obviously cannot be used to set the voltage.

I cannot do BSEL or VID mods because I cant find a guide for my CPU, also it seems kinda risky.

I cannot find a modded BIOS anywhere for my system.

Does anyone have any suggestions (Other than getting new hardware ofcourse, as I dont feel like replacing my motherboard for an Ivy bridge just yet)
Indeed I have made a mistake of buying a prebuilt.

Any help would be appreciated, as futile as this is.

Hi hyzoran,

Perhaps you can post us your BIOS image and we can see if there are any modifications available.

Well the BIOS image by HP definitely seems to be stripped of any hidden features after searching the ROM. if you had the tools to brick and recover your BIOS you could test some retail motherboard images and create a list of best candidates based on similarity. For example, this board has the same chipset as your so you owuld compare its features and see how viable of a match it is.
