I've got a HP DV7-4180SD and it has a broken LED screen. Fixing it is too expensive at the moment. I'm using a 24inch External which looks pretty good but my system only displays after windows has fully booted. Which is pretty troublesome since I have to enter my bios to enable AHCI (it's probably not even there). I bought a Samsung 830 SSD to speed things up, but I can only use half of it's speed without AHCI enabled, which is a waste.
That's why I ask very kindly of you to help me see the bios at boot and have an AHCI settings within said bios. I've tried everything from disconnecting the screen to (un)installing drivers. There seem to be only two solutions. 1 is to buy a replacement screen and 2 is to somehow use a modded bios with AHCI + VGA support at boot.
If you're willing to help, please do!
You can download the current bios I'm running here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...08&sw_lang=
I'll try to keep you up to date as fast as possible about everything I'll try.
